Are you interested in Harry’s headband design???
Do you have trouble keeping your little ones cochlear implants on all day. Does the pediatric kit drive you nuts?
If you are looking for something similar please contact me directly as I am happy to share the pattern with you or possibly provide you with one if you are in Australia.
My aim is to have a whole batch made up before the end of this year to distribute to those who need them or would like to try them. One of my readers has already benefited from giving me her feedback and I would be so happy if our design helped many others.
We have tweaked the design from the images below so the microphones are not covered by the fabric . I have had Australian Hearing and the Melbourne Cochlear Implant Clinic check it over and they both think the new design works well.
So please let me know if you are interested even if you live on the other side of the world from us- I am sure the issues are the same world wide!!!!
Hello there, just became alerted to your blog through Google, and found that it is really informative. I will appreciate if you continue this in future. A lot of people will be benefited from your writing. Cheers!
Hi Bob, Thanks for your feedback. Are you or is someone in your family profoundly deaf with Cochlear Implants? I am keen to hear from others about their experiences. Sorry the blog hasn’t been updated in a while . I am trying to do it at least once a month. Cheers!
Hello, my one granddaughter was born deaf and received her cochlear implants when she was about 18 months old. We use headbands all the time for her but the ones we have are quite stretchy and when she rubs against something or is playing rough, she sometimes has one or both processors fall off. I would dearly love to have the pattern for the headbands you make, they look like they would be a lifesaver!! Please let me know if you are willing to share it with me. Thanks!!
Dear Lois,
Of course I would be happy to share the design with you . I will forward it to you via my email. Let me know how you get on.
Hollie
Hi Holly, for some reason I never received the pattern. Would you mind re-sending it to me? My e-mail is lois_mccrae@yahoo.ca
Thanks!!!
Hi, I saw this post and I loved it! This is amazing! Do you think this could work for older kids? like when they are doing sports? because my cousin is having this problem a lot, they always fall out when he’s running, and I thought maybe to buy something like that or do it myself for his next birthday. I’m from Spain, so as you said, the problem is the same all over the world đŸ˜‰
Thank you!
Hi
I have a larger size black version you can order . It fits adults and larger kids so worth a try for sports. It is also made from 55% wool so it wicks away moisture from sweat away from the processors.
Hi there, I have just stumbled across your blog and looking forward to reading in more detail. My 10 month nephew Ethan had his operation Tuesday for cochlea implants after meningitis left him with a dead left ear and profoundly deaf right ear in January. He is a little soldier and I look forward to sharing your blog with my sister so she may draw inspiration from harry’s journey. I was wondering if you could email me the pattern for your headbands as these look amazing and will no doubt be invaluable when his wounds heal and ‘plugged in’. I myself do not crochet, but I have a friend who as yet is unaware I may commission her to make some.
Much thanks
Kate x
Hi!
I would be overjoyed if you could share your design pattern with me! My niece just received her CI’s today and I would love to have one of these headbands to help her learn to keep them in place as she is only 14 mos. old!!
How much is the pattern. My nephew just recently had implant surgery and his mom and dad want the headbands
I’d really love the pattern for my little guy’s CIs! I’m looking for a headband I can steampunk-ify and this looks like a good fit!
Hi there i was just wondering if you had a pattern for this headband. A friends daughter would like one made that is a bit more fun than the ones generally available. I thought i could try and make it for them as i sew a bit. Would be great to hear back from you. Thanks. Seana
Hello my son who is almost 3 was born deaf in both ears bc of pendred syndrome & has cochlea monndis. I’d be forever grateful if you could share your pattern as he is a ball of energy! He got implanted last year & has had multiple surgeries due to complications & is only wearing 1 until another surgery date is set to fix the other side. My daughter is 4 and just got an implant. Keeping it on her head is so hard. She loves it but is just so active it falls off every 2 min. I would love your pattern. Thank you so much
We are no longer giving out the patterns to this headband. But some amazing mums have opened other businesses on Etsy selling great products
Thank you for your enquiry
